Protein Calories Are Not Total Calories

A chicken breast, tofu portion, lentil stew and protein bar can each contain protein, but the full food energy depends on everything in the product. A bar with 20 g protein may also contain fat, sugars and fibre. A lentil dish may contain carbohydrate and fibre as well as protein. Per Serving And Powder Scoop Checks

Protein powder is a common place for label confusion. A tub may say one serving is 30 g powder and that serving provides 24 g protein. The converter should receive the protein amount, not the powder weight, unless the powder is almost pure protein.
