Fusion Mechanics Guide
Basic Fusion Rules
Persona fusion in P3R follows specific mathematical formulas to determine results. The resulting persona’s level is calculated using this formula:
(Persona A Level + Persona B Level) ÷ 2 = Result Level
If the result is a decimal, it rounds up to the nearest whole number. The game then selects the persona of the resulting arcana closest to this calculated level.
Same-Arcana Fusion
When fusing two personas of the same arcana, the result will always be another persona of that same arcana. However, the resulting persona must have a lower level than the highest-level persona used in the fusion.
Fusion Accidents
Occasionally, fusion results may differ from expectations due to fusion accidents. These occur more frequently during new moon phases and can produce either significantly stronger or weaker personas than intended.

Can I fuse personas I don’t currently have?
No, you can only fuse personas currently in your stock or registered in your compendium. You’ll need to resummon personas from the compendium using yen if they’re not in your current party.
What determines which skills are inherited?
Skill inheritance is partially random, but you can influence it by choosing which skills to pass down during the fusion process. Some skills cannot be inherited and are unique to specific personas.
Do social link levels affect fusion results?
Social link levels don’t change fusion recipes, but they unlock new personas within each arcana. Higher social link ranks allow you to create more powerful personas of that arcana type.
Can Aeon and Death arcana be fused together?
No, Aeon and Death arcana cannot be fused together in any combination. This is a unique restriction in the fusion system.
What’s the best way to plan fusion chains?
Start with your end goal persona and work backwards. Identify the required components, then plan how to obtain or create each component efficiently. Always consider the yen cost of resummons.
Are there any fusion bonuses for full moon?
Full moons don’t provide fusion bonuses, but new moons increase the chance of fusion accidents. Plan important fusions during stable moon phases for predictable results.
