Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS)

Most long-term visa applicants must pay the Immigration Health Surcharge alongside their visa fee. This provides access to NHS services during your stay.

IHS Rates 2025:

  • Adults: £1,035 per year
  • Students: £776 per year
  • Children under 18: £776 per year
  • Youth Mobility Scheme: £776 per year

Important: Visit visas (up to 6 months) do not require IHS payment. The surcharge must be paid for the full duration of your visa upfront.

Do children pay the same visa fees as adults?
