It does not attempt to allocate every public service, imported product, workplace emission or investment impact. That narrower scope makes the result easier to act on. The hidden factors used in the page are typical planning values rather than a complete government reporting dataset. Gas is estimated at 0.183 kgCO2e per kWh and electricity at 0.207 kgCO2e per kWh. Car emissions are editable because a petrol car, diesel car, hybrid, EV charged at home and shared vehicle can differ. The DESNZ conversion factors are updated annually for reporting. A household footprint is not the same as the UK’s territorial emissions. ONS explains that footprint, residence and territorial emissions are different measures.
